COSTUME DESIGN: DIEGO MONTOYA

I have always wanted to collaborate with Diego, he is really one of the most talented designers I know. The inspiration for his design was a classic Russian nesting doll. I was asked to hand paint the custom rose motif on fabric which was then sent to the printers and scaled down to complete the nesting doll effect. I started off with a white fabric base and use Jacquard fabric paint and lots of water to create these really saturate roses. Diego went ahead and asked me to paint a heel to tie the whole look together.
